Book of Days. Outside cover.

Have you joined up with Effy for her Book of Days yet? (Link is over on the right of the page) I love prompts, and I love to watch others work. Book of Days promises both!  I chose my word for the year...' Embrace'...this will remind me to let go of the pain of  losing my much loved Mum and embrace the love that I find with my two new grandchildren.
On the left is the outside of the book (an upcycled reader's digest) . That's Kassidy there on the front page with me, she was born on the 16th of December. My grandson is due in April. Lots of texture here with mulberry paper scrapbook papers, tissue paper. Stamps, dribbled and sprayed ink, paint through punchinella and rub-ons completed the top layers

On the right is the inside front pages.  I used butterscotch and 'vintage paper' ink pads...rubbed onto the surface and blended out with baby wipes. A darker brown was used for the stencilling of the flowers. The pocket on the left will hold a letter to 2011. A hidden pocket between the pages on the right will hold a letter to 2012. The 'Ex Libris' words were already there. I researched and found out that it is latin for 'from the library of'...very apt, so I will add my name underneath!

Mandala 3

I finally put my Christmas decorations up today. I wasn't going to bother this year, but now that I have, I'm glad. There's nothing more joy-giving than twinkling lights and tinsel!
One last mandala. They are quite relaxing, so if you get a chance to learn, I would thoughly recommend it
