Documented Life Planner

Thought I'd pop in some recent DLP spreads. Week 37 was to predominantly use a white pen.

Here I laid down a gesso undercoat which I then texturised. Then I blended two colours of acrylics for my base. Next came a white gel pen and a thicker nib white paint pen  for details and lastly some pastel pencils for colouring in. It's quite a happy looking page with the addition of some sweet 'flower' quotes.

Can you see the texture......yummy!

Black and white were the prompt for week 36. After a black gesso background, all I needed to do was add some white gesso through a stencil and add some text. Easy peasy and quick to boot!

Last week

Last week I completed my week 14 DLP journal page

 The prompt was to embellish your name so I attempted an illuminated letter ( something I've been meaning to do for ages) and some calligraphy

I also used some scraps of watercolour paper to make some 'word cards'. These cards can contain inspirational words or quotes...whatever you want!

These will be nice just tucked into a journal pocket or adhered to a page or just keep them in a stack. Pretty pretty!

Documented Life week 13

As I mentioned, I'm participating in a Facebook group called the Documented Life Journal. Each week we are given a prompt and everyone posts their work for all to admire and coo over. 

My last weeks effort at the Documented Life project..the prompt was to have a someone else draw on your page and then finish it off. I handed my book to my daughter, and was quite surprised to get this bird returned to me. Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised, after all, her boyfriend raises exotic birds! Anyway, my surprise was because she did this with no photo reference...that's my girl! I'll make an artist of her yet!

The technique here included smooching around intense for the background. On the bird I dropped in watercolour on wet paper

It's organised by "Art to the 5th" ladies, and they supply a prompt every week for your tip in page. 

 What's a tip in page? Well, we simply cut a piece of watercolour paper to fit inside and attach it with washi tape at the outside edge. The watercolour paper will take all the wet media, but you might have to be careful what you do with the other pages if you get the weekly planner journal from Moleskine (as suggested), because that is quite thin paper...try gesso.

 The edge of the book looks really cool if you can source a few different colours of washi tape...but be careful....collecting washi is very addictive....ask any DLP (documented life project) practiser!
